Who we are
The Intercommunal Operative Centre for Civil Protection was born in order to gather little Communes and to be an istrument of prevision, prevention and intervention at Sindycs’ and citizens’ disposal in case of necessity coming from emergencies on the territory.
The I.O.C. was born on September 1995. Nowadays it’s composed by the Communes of Viguzzolo, Sarezzano, Castellar Guidobono, Volpeglino and Berzano di Tortona and it collects about 5.000 people.
Though being a recently born structure, the I.O.C. carried out yet many projects, some of them very innovative, in the sector of the protection of citizens living on the territory where it acts.
The I.O.C. Operative Room is still not complete, but it has yet technical instruments to face properly all the possible events.

The primary aim of the I.O.C. is the information to make the concepts of living together with risks and of self-protection grow inside each individual.
